How it works after
the closing
Closing & assignment
E&E Funding closes your loan. Your account is transferred to a servicer — the company that will manage your monthly payments going forward.
Welcome letter
In 2–3 weeks you receive a welcome letter from your servicer with exact instructions: payment portal, loan number and automatic payment options.
Your first payment
Due on the 1st of the second month after closing. If you closed in March, your first payment is May 1. The month in between is your "grace period" — no charge.
Who do I pay?
As a mortgage broker, E&E Funding does not receive your monthly payments. We explain how it works.
Your servicer
After closing, your loan is transferred to a servicer — the company responsible for receiving your payments, managing your escrow and sending you statements. You will receive a welcome letter 2–3 weeks after closing.
Your first payment
Generally due on the 1st of the second month following closing. For example: if you closed on March 15, your first payment would be May 1. The first month is a grace period — there is no intermediate charge.

Questions about payments
-
Your first payment is generally due on the 1st of the second month after closing. If you closed on March 15, your first payment is May 1. The month between closing and the first payment is known as a "grace period" — no intermediate charge.
-
Your monthly payment is received by your loan servicer, not E&E Funding. The servicer is the company assigned to manage your loan after closing. You will receive a welcome letter with exact instructions 2–3 weeks after closing.
-
Most loans have a 15-day grace period. If you pay after day 16, you could incur a penalty. If you think you will have difficulty paying, call your servicer immediately. There are assistance programs that can help you avoid damage to your credit history.
-
Yes. Most loans allow extra payments to principal without penalty. Make sure to specify that the additional payment is for "principal" — not to advance the next payment. One extra payment per year can shorten your term by several years and save you thousands in interest.
-
You must contact your servicer directly to update your address, phone or banking information. You can do this from their online portal or by calling the customer service number on your monthly statement.
